1. Many lands across the world were invaded by the romans
You probably always wonder how the romans was able to build such a huge empire. Well, that’s because the whole empire was full of recruits from different part of the world. The romans invaded lots of countries during their reign and making them part of their empire. Even Britain was invaded my romans, which is why so much Roman stuff can be found in the UK.
2. The Romans would bath together
To keep themselves clean, the Romans went to communal baths – that is, large baths where everyone would gather. Britain still has one of these baths till this day from when it was under roman rule.

They were known around the world for being the best fighters during their reign. They often fought and won fights against armies that was much bigger than them. This is frequently said because of how strong, organized and well trained the Roman armies were.

The Roman army did not just dominate Europe but also took over certain parts of North Africa and Asia. When the Roman Empire was coming to an end, it was just over 2 million square miles and stretched from syria all the way to scotland. The Emperor Hadrian attempted to take over Scotland but failed.

As many people do, you probably always wonder why there are so many ancient stuff below the streets we walk on today, well that’s because the city has piled up after so many hundreds of years, buildings have been build on top of buildings. Ancient Rome streets, which once witness the celebration parades by conquering generals and solemn funeral processioms, are today hidden under an average of 20 to 30 feet of debris.
9. The Romans ate dinner lying down on couches
Parties in ancient Rome, looked completely different than parties today. Attending a party during those times, meant being taken to a room line which only had couches and not tables and chairs. They used to support themselves with their left arm and put food in their mouths with their right arm.
10. Romans used to wash clothes in urine
Since urine contains ammonia, a strong bleaching agent, The Romans washed heir clothes in urine. Public urinals were placed on many street corners for the men to used and their contents were gathered and brought to the laundry every day.
