Geely’s latest plug-in hybrid sedan, the Galaxy Starshine 8 EM-P, has been unveiled through a filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on February 19. This new model serves as the PHEV variant of the Geely Galaxy E8 and stands out as the first Galaxy-branded vehicle to feature the NordThor EM-P system. With its anticipated market entry, the Starshine 8 EM-P is set to compete against key rivals like the BYD Han L.

While official interior images remain undisclosed, industry speculation suggests that the Flyme Auto smart cockpit system will be standard across the entire lineup. This suggests a focus on seamless connectivity, intuitive infotainment, and AI-driven enhancements.

Powertrain and Performance

The Galaxy Starshine 8 EM-P is powered by Geely’s NordThor EM-P hybrid system, confirmed by its tail label. The hybrid setup includes:

The Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 EM-P marks an important step for Geely’s expanding PHEV lineup, offering an impressive balance of power, efficiency, and smart technology. With its sleek design, advanced driver assistance features, and robust hybrid powertrain, it is well-poised to challenge established market players like the BYD Han L. As more details emerge, Geely enthusiasts and hybrid vehicle buyers alike will be eager to see how this model performs in real-world driving conditions.
